When Nintendo announced the game, it said that players won’t have the ability to upload the courses they create to the internet – the only options players have for sharing courses comes down to StreetPass and Local Play. Support for 3D won’t be the only thing Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will be missing when it arrives. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a 3DS that’s only playable in 2D, but most first-party Nintendo games use the 3D feature in some way – even the most recent Pokemon games allow users to turn on 3D during battles, despite the fact that it’s disabled while players explore the overworld. Since we’re just going off what the box art says here, there’s no official reason why Nintendo chose to skip support for stereoscopic 3D in the 3DS version of Super Mario Maker.
